Core Samples
(Sidekick Books, 2013) • Collaboration with Kirsten Irving • Currently unavailable

A core sample is a cylindrical sample of rock, bone or other naturally occurring substances taken using a hollow core drill with rotary coring bit. Core Samples uses javascript algorithms to simulate the virtual earth of various computer games at different depths and then make a loose sonnet out of the resulting ‘sample’. Each copy of the pamphlet is unique; we re-ran the algorithms and repopulated the manuscript between prints. Copies were used as a backers’ reward for the crowd-funded Coin Opera 2: Fulminare’s Revenge anthology.
